Members of the ethnic music band Harmonia and Simply Slavic's director Ken Shirilla offer an exciting preview of the great Slavic music and entertainment that will be featured at this summer's Simply Slavic Festival in Downtown Youngstown.
Walt Mahovlich and Alexander Fedoriouk of Harmonia recently made a special appearance at Chaney Campus in Youngstown to educate visual and performing arts students on Eastern European music and instruments. Their entertaining visit was made possible by the Ethnic Heritage Society; and Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home with their support for our Slavic in the Schools Program. With the help of our sponsors we were able to educate the next generation on the colorful music and history of our culture.
Harmonia has recently released a new album titled Hidden Legacy. To find out more and to place an order please visit harmoniaband.com. The Cleveland Plain Dealer also has posted an excellent summary of the album on cleveland.com. Harmonia is scheduled to perform at Simply Slavic which will take place on June 16, 2012 from 12PM to Midnight in Downtown Youngstown on Federal Plaza East.
